Press Release: Nové, a New Yoga, Health, and Wellness Studio Opens on Cape Cod
“With all that is going on in our world today, it’s more important than ever for each of us to focus on ways we can improve our health and wellness,” said Borowick. “Nové gives people a roadmap for achieving these goals in a safe, supportive, and empowering environment.”
Named after the Czech word for new, Nové’s mission is to help people feel new every day by preparing their mind and body to confront challenges, large and small.
Located next to Three Fins Coffee at 581 Main Street in West Dennis, Nové offers virtual classes mixed with indoor classes, as well as outdoor ones every Monday and Wednesday evening, 6-7 pm, and Tuesday through Friday mornings, 7:30-8:30 am, at the Dennis Village Green Bandstand on Route 6A.
Due to the pandemic, Nové has limited indoor classes with strict protocols in place to ensure the health and safety of teachers and students.
Instructors include Carrie Cooper of Brewster; Nicole Cormier of Truro; Manny Marrero of Yarmouth; Jen Myette of Centerville; Jennifra Norton of Harwich; Dilyana Stoeva of Harwich; Janelle Taylor of Chatham; Terry Walsh of Harwich; and Susannah and André van der Wende of Orleans.
Taylor, who has been teaching yoga for over five years, enjoys the fellowship Nové has created. “When you take a class here, you know you’re not only supporting yourself and your healing, but also supporting a small business that truly cares about building community,” she said. “Their offerings are accessible to everyone, no matter where they are at in life.”
For more than a decade, Susannah van der Wende has immersed herself in the practice of yoga. She is drawn to “the heart of the yoga philosophy which is also the heart of Nové – that you can learn, experience, and feel something new every day,” she said.
As an avid runner and cyclist, Borowick emphasizes the importance of recovery to help athletes reach new peaks. Her athletic pursuits include running 5Ks; completing the Mt. Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb; participating in The Gasp to support WE CAN; and cycling 400 miles over three days as part of the Solstice Ride from Connecticut to Montreal. She believes these achievements would not have been possible without encouragement from her friends and a regimen dedicated to recovery through yoga and wellness.
These passions led to the launch of Nové which offers support to those interested in sports at all levels. “Nové is for any athlete, regardless of age or ability, who not only wants to improve their health and performance, but their ability to recover between trainings and competitions,” said Borowick. “We believe everyone is an athlete and can take steps to maximize their productivity in the gym, on the field, and in their everyday lives. Our goal is to help people achieve their best version of themselves.”
Nové adopts strategies that will allow athletes to train smarter and enhance recovery. Its offerings include yoga, meditation, mindfulness, strength classes, and nutrition workshops with more to be added in the coming weeks and months. People can take classes both in the studio and off-site, wherever they may be and on any device at www.noveyoga.com.
Borowick, who is also the owner and founder of Cleangreen, makes time in her busy schedule to exercise, meditate, or practice yoga at least once a day. “So many of us are focused on our work and pushing to complete the next task that we forget about the importance of balance,” Borowick said. “At Nové, we help people find that balance by letting people workout at a time that is most convenient for them. Through technology, we have the ability to reach people on Cape Cod and beyond which is exciting.”
